Canoe Test 2009

A team from Essex Association of Boys’ Clubs recently took part in and completed Clubs for Young Peoples’ 47th annual 100 Mile Canoe Test.  This year the test took place over four days on the River Wye, starting at Glasbury and finishing at Monmouth.  The team comprised of young people from Upminster Cricket Club and Ingatestone Boys’ Own Club and their commitment and determination to complete the 100 miles was admirable.  However they couldn’t have accomplished the challenge without the support of fearless river leader Andy, from Stubbers Adventure Centre, master chef Berner and intrepid support driver Chris.  Their valuable help and support ensured all the young people had a great experience.

Congratulations to the following young people for completing the 100 miles;

Haydn Walters (Ingatestone Boys’ Own Club)

Lee Cranmer (Ingatestone Boys’ Own Club)

Joel Cooper (Ingatestone Boys’ Own Club)

Connor McParland (Ingatestone Boys’ Own Club)

William Bottoms (Upminster Cricket Club)
